Galveston County sheriff's deputies broke up a cockfighting operation in
Santa Fe Sunday after receiving a residential complaint. The SPCA now has temporary custody of 127 roosters, all individually caged to
keep them from fighting. The agency will go to court later this week to gain permanent custody. If
granted all the roosters will be euthanized, because, SPCA workers say, animals
bred to kill can not rehabilitated. Source: http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/khou040329_ds_SPCARoosters.d3aeb7a1.html
