  • Kentucky Department of Agriculture's Vesicular Stomatitis Embargo

May 5, 2005 By Commonwealth of Kentucky Department of Agriculture

With the notification received yesterday evening that an equine animal residing on a single premise in Maricopa County, AZ, has been diagnosed with Vesicular Stomatitis (VS), Kentucky's Administrative Regulation 302 KAR 20:115 will now prohibit the entry of all livestock, wild and exotic animals into Kentucky from the VS Embargoed portions of Arizona identified as being Maricopa County.

Both Arizona and New Mexico have regions designated by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture as VS Embargoed prohibiting the entry of all livestock, wild and exotic animals into Kentucky from those designated areas.

Status of California Felony Bill SB156

SB156 passed the Senate Public Safety Committee on April 19, 2005 by a 4-3 vote. This bill will now be heard by the Senate Appropriations Committee.

The Senate Appropriations Committee Meeting will be in Sacramento at the State Capital on Monday, May 16, 2005 on this bill. The Appropriations Committee meets on at 1:30 P.M. in Room 4203.

This is a must stop bill for California.

    Quotes from famous ARA's

"Christianity is our foe. If animal rights is to succeed, we must destroy the Judeo-Christian religious tradition." Peter Singer

"My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture" John Paul "JP" Goodwin

"If you take the attitude that one form of animal use is acceptable, then you can't criticize anything else" Wayne Pacelle, HSUS

Please help save Toby the rabbit

It appears the ARA's have managed to shut down donations for Toby. When the GFN staff looked at the "donation" tab the message was clear..

    NEWS FLASH: PETA KILLS ANIMALS!

From the desk of the Consumer Freedom staff. May 6, 2005

Since you are one of the 63,000 Americans who visited www.PETApetition.com and signed our online petition (encouraging the IRS to revoke PETA's federal tax-exemption), you already understand the hidden threat that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and its $25 million annual budget pose to the American way of life.

If PETA were ever to reach its goal and impose "total animal liberation" on the rest of us, meat and dairy foods would become things of the past. The same goes for zoos, aquariums, rodeos, circuses, hunting, fishing, leather, wool, silk, and even lifesaving medical research that requires the use of lab rats.

Now PETA's scandalous story has become even more disturbing. We've discovered that since 1998, PETA has actually "liberated" over 10,000 dogs and cats -- from life itself. PETA killed these animals at its Virginia headquarters, rather than spending a portion of its enormous bankroll actually caring for them.

You can find the shocking details at a new website, www.PetaKill sAnimals.com. In order to spread the word about PETA's stunning hypocrisy, we unveiled a giant billboard today in New York City's famed Times Square. But please do your part by forwarding this e- mail to everyone in your address book.

PETA kills animals -- and they dare lecture the rest of us! For more breaking news about PETA, bookmark www.Cons umerFreedom.com and visit us there regularly.

Sincerely, David Martosko Director of Research The Center for Consumer Freedom
