  • NAIS (National Animal Identification System)

    Dear GFN Members,

We have a serious problem on our hands and it's called NAIS and the USDA. Over the next few days you will be getting newsletters everyday and it's important you read each and every one of them. It's also important that you forward them to everyone on your email list and have them forward them to everyone on their list. It's also important that you encourage everyone to sign up for GFN's FREE newsletter to help spread the word.

My husband was brow beaten and threatened when he got back to the states from Viet Nam after being shot, having agent orange dumped on him and having malaria all in Viet Nam. The army would not release him until he signed a paper he would never asked for any VA benefits. If he did not he would not be discharged and his life would be made a living hell....he signed. He was honorably discharged and given a piece of paper to buy his own purple heart he got for being shot.

We raised our kids to be proud to be Americans and taught them they owed it to their country to give back and serve. Every one of our kids has been in the Air Force every one has had their identity stolen. We never ever said a word about the treatment Harold got in Viet Nam or here in the states by the Army or by those civilians who spit on him and called him a baby killer as he was coming home after being shot, having agent orange and some other chemical dumped on him and having malaria which reoccurred over and over for years until I threw a hissy and made the VA give him the drugs that would control it. We have never asked for anything else. He was left out in the boonies for days with no water and drank out of buffalo wallows because his tongue was so swollen it would not fit in his mouth from lack of moisture. He only told the boys how proud he was to be an American and it was his duty to serve when drafted.

Every medicine we bought for his skin etc we paid for out of our pocket. We got rid of the parasites and fungus eating him alive on our dime. We have raised our food to keep his skin clear as possible and him alive, productive.

We got a letter in the 90's again telling us he could never file for any disability, or ever use the VA or benefits of any form. We never asked for any benefits except once when the malaria would not go away and regular hospitals could not do a thing for him but let him be delirious and chill so bad that he broke teeth.

So why if Harold was not to ever even think about using the VA or ever use any benefits or even think about using them was he on the data base and why was that data base allowed to be so freely available and why was all our family's identities stolen but mine but then as his wife I am in there also or as the kid's mother.

What horrors awaits us with Premise ID, Animal ID and all the other NAIS stuff. Those who wish us not to own even one animal or even property at all will be in control of it. International firms and the International USDA, Inc. which has less loyalty to us than the VA has to us.

I am really tired and so mad at being screwed and tattooed by this government who lets the tail wag the dog with every agency totally out of control and doing only God knows what with no boundaries, no controls and forget privacy, protection and most of all freedom. No one can be as mad as I am and I am not going to get over it -ever.

Our point is we never asked for anything and since they chose to control costs by forcing him to sign that waiver of benefits and then sending that letter in the 90's making sure we would never ask for any benefits there should not have been in any data base especially one taken home by an employee in 2006.

The only way our names could be on that data base is if they are using our data for profit either to bilk the taxpayers for more money, selling to insurance or drug companies our info. or some other corporate profit making scheme.

Now think about those who will have our information and the cost to us with the National Animal Identification System. Data mining by those who stand to profit and will get paid to kill our freedom, choices of buying local grown foods, raising our own and have total inventory control over every bite of food in the world. We will lose more than our identity. We will loose our property, our animals and our traditional way of life and have to pay those screwing us in the deal. People better wake up.

No matter how sugar coated the USDA tries to sell NAIS it is not written fully so only a fool would blindly sign over their property to the USDA. That is handing them a blank check to your wallet, giving them ownership of your animals of all species and destroying all your constitutional rights.

Think about it....for me it is a no brainer. I will not be fooled and I will not give up my liberty and hard won constitutional rights via NAIS.

Also a neat slide production. http://www.stopanimalid.org/ And please remember the Grannys, they are true "Warriors" is this battle. http://www.grannywarriors.com/ http://arkansasanimalproducers.8k.com/ Really great background on NAIS and how it will mess up all raisers of any type animals. Dog owners are also members of the group. If in Arkansas this is an active group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Oklahomans_against_NAIS Time is running out. It's up to YOU to stop NAIS before it's too late and, make no mistake, if this flawed program becomes mandatory, it WILL affect you http://www.nonais.org/ More information here.

    Action You Can Take

On August 23rd in Kansas City Missouri, the NIAA will be having USDA Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns giving the keynote address at their 2006 ID EXPO at the Crown Westin Plaza, 1 East Pershing Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64108. Also on that day Dr. Mary Zanoni will be participating in a panel discussion representing those of us opposed to the NAIS. Click Here for the Crown Westin Website.

There will be a peaceful protest against the NAIS going on outside of the meeting all day on the 23rd. We need people to show up and allow themselves to be viewed by those who would push this system upon us without our consent.

Already there have millions if not billions of federal dollars (yours!) spent to bring this plan to fruition. The USDA claims that 86 million has been spent on it, but that only covers the amounts given to States to set up databases and begin accepting premises registrations. It fails to include at least 39 pilot projects and grants to businesses providing the technology and trials within such groups as 4H; nor does it cover the amounts paid to employees and representatives of the USDA in promulgating and developing the plan.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get your voice heard and to show those wishing to bring this about that you are willing to stand strongly against it. Please contact Doreen Hanes via email to confirm your attendance and willingness to participate in this event. We don’t have much time.

    Sue Karber, Oklahoma

If you put someone down then put them down on your prayer list.

    No to NAIS
