“The Humane Society should be worried about
protecting animals from cruelty. It’s not doing
that. The place is all about power and
money.”
— HSUS consultant and chief investigator Robert Baker

| The Albuquerque Journal Sinks To New Low |
 |
|
In the January 9, 2007 edition of the Albuquerque
Journal Staff Writer Jim Ludwick wrote a somewhat
colorful article. It appears he graduated from the
ART's University of Journalism. His knack for
twisting words and writing to the HSUS drum beat is
un-canny.
In the story titled "Women Fighting For Cockfighting
Ban Targeted" he eludes to his readership that
violence is about to befall them (the women).
Ludwick contacted GFN and ask what was meant when
our editor posted on a message board that we would
"dig up dirt" on them, referring to three women. He
was beside himself trying to figure out who the
"three women" are. He asked us numerous times what
was meant by "dig up dirt". Our reply to Ludwick was
simple, "your a journalist, it's exactly what you're
trying to do right now— digging up dirt",
Ludwick was insistent on finding out who the "three
women" are. All to no avail. GFN was not going to
give him the story so he made up his own and twisted
it to his own agenda. In our eye's that's not a
smart thing to do.
Ludwick evidently contacted Elisabeth Jennings,
executive director of Animal Protection Voters, and
a longtime adversary of cockfighting. In her twisted
mind she states "the exchange on the Internet
illustrates that those who are cruel to animals are
often capable of threatening and intimidating
people, too". Ludwick, your a so called
"journalist", why don't you publish the truth
instead of blatant un-truths. When Ludwick spoke to
GFN the subject "dig up dirt" was the main topic of
conversation. GFN told Ludwick, plain and simple,
that we are going to "dig up dirt", legally, and
find the ghosts in the proverbial closet of the
"targeted" perps. Well that sent Ludwick into a
tizzy.Ludwick also contacted Sen. Mary Jane
Garcia, D-Doña Ana, NM, who is sponsoring
legislation to ban cockfighting in New Mexico,
Garcia said
she had not heard about the cockfighters' plans, but
was unfazed. "Whatever grave they want to dig
for me— go ahead and dig it." Garcia said.
Anyone knows that when one say's we're going to "dig
up dirt" on someone it does not mean to dig a grave
and literally bury them.
GFN recommends Ludwick go back to high school and
write for its class paper. At least there he can
write about Dick and Jane.

| Death, destruction, and the HSUS: Democratic Party's gift to Louisville |
 |
|
This comes in from the BlueDogState
Blog...
Dems continue to wander and dabble their way towards
automatic support of animal rights issues, leaving
their dog and pet-owning constituents to fend for
themselves as best they can.
Residents of Louisville, Kentucky are getting ready
to assume the position.
The countdown for implementation of Louisville's
gargantuan anti-pet, anti-pet owner animal
control ordinance continues.
In the meantime, Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of
the largest, richest animal rights organization in
the country--the organization that basically wrote
the Louisville ordinance--says he's looking forward
to a banner year. In fact, he comes precious close
to hijacking Democratic Party rhetoric. In an
article published for him by the Denver
Post, he writes--
"The Democrats have now taken control of
Congress . . .[and] the 2006 election brought
decisive victories for the cause of animal
protection - and left the callous to lick their own
wounds for a change. .Despite the enormous financial
advantages of animal-use industries and their trade
groups, they don't seem to welcome open debate and
direct democracy. They do best in the clubby comfort
zones of back rooms and big-time lobby firms. "
Daring comments, coming from an organization that
outspent Exxon Mobil in lobbying during the 2006
election cycle, spreading $3.4 million to support
the candidates and issues HSUS favors.
